Produced by Lenco Industries, it was introduced in 2001 as a smaller offshoot of the larger Lenco BEAR. The BearCat was specifically designed to fill a critical gap, as tactical units previously relied on unarmored vans or repurposed military surplus vehicles not suited for police operations. Developed with input from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, this dedicated armored vehicle provides specialized features for law enforcement applications and is now used by numerous agencies and military units across the globe.
