The Armed Forces of Ukraine, in Ukraine most commonly known as ZSU or anglicized as AFU, are the military forces of Ukraine. The modern armed forces were formed in 1991 and consisted of three former Soviet Armed Forces military districts stationed in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic.
