The KRISS Vector is a series of American weapons based on a submachine gun design developed by KRISS USA. Designed in 2006 and in production since 2009, its defining feature is an unconventional delayed blowback system. Invented by French engineer Renaud Kerbrat, this mechanism redirects recoil forces downward to significantly reduce muzzle climb and felt recoil, making the firearm highly controllable. The weapon is chambered for a variety of pistol cartridges and is designed to accept widely available extended Glock magazines. Its name, “Kriss,” is derived from a distinctive Southeast Asian dagger with a flame-shaped blade, reflecting its unique appearance. The firearm was first announced in 2007 by KRISS USA’s predecessor, TDI.
